In 2023, the UN Nigeria received the UN Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD) funding to conduct a situation analysis on the rights of persons with disabilities in Nigeria. This became necessary to better understand the specific challenges and opportunities to support the country in the best possible way in its efforts to effectively implement the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Therefore, the situation analysis utilized f ive pre-conditions and cross-cutting issues to assess progress and gaps towards the CRPD-compliant inclusion of persons with disabilities in Nigeria.
